The Giza day tour is a fantastic opportunity to explore four major ancient Egyptian landmarks. The tour includes visits to the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Great Sphinx, Saqqara, and Memphis. The Great Pyramid is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, while the Great Sphinx is a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a human head. Saqqara features the oldest pyramid in Egypt, the Step Pyramid of Djoser, while Memphis is an open-air museum showcasing ruins of temples, statues, and palaces, including the famous statue of Ramses II. The tour offers an insight into ancient Egyptian history and culture.
Itinerary
1st. Stop
Great Pyramid | Sphinx
Our guide and driver will pick you up at your Cairo/Giza hotel at the scheduled time to begin your tour and escort you to the Giza plateau complex.
Your tour will begin with a visit to the Great Pyramid of Giza, the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in Giza. You will have the opportunity to explore the pyramid’s chambers and learn about the construction techniques used to build this incredible structure.
Next, you will head to the Great Sphinx, a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a human head. The Sphinx is believed to have been built during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre and is one of the most iconic landmarks in Egypt.
Lunch break at a local restaurant, where you can sample traditional Egyptian cuisine.
2nd. Stop
Saqqara
After lunch, you will head to Saqqara, an ancient burial ground that contains many pyramids, tombs, and temples. The highlight of this site is the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest pyramid in Egypt.
3rd. Stop
Memphis
Finally, you will visit Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt and an open-air museum containing ruins of temples, statues, and palaces. Here, you can see the famous statue of Ramses II, as well as other impressive artifacts.
At the end of the tour your driver will take you back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
